Take part German Shepard, stir in a batch of Yellow Lab and a tinch (tiny pinch) of Blue Heeler and presto-shazam along comes Jasper, my first true love. I got Jasper as a wee puppy and even though he was the last one left in his litter, it was love at first site. It’s like being the last one picked for a sport team at school right? How did anyone know they were passing on the smartess, most loving dog ever.
He was always so gentle with the neighborhood little ones, even when they pulled his ears. And why won’t they want to grab on? Those ears were as soft as silk and smelt so yummy good. Then when I least expected it, someone we trusted broke my heart, but I still had Jasper. My loyal & loving friend, why can’t men be more like dogs? Over the next 14 years we must have walked 1000 miles together. Enjoying nature, neighbors and a simple life. Everybody just loved him (well, except Karen the day he stole her quiche off the patio table). Giggle. There have been others since, maybe as sweet and possibly as gentle, but little Jasper’s memories will always have the biggest part of my heart because he was my first. xox Always & Forever.

Awwww, I could have never guessed when I began this, that I’d be planning a trip to California, I know it’s a bit away, but won’t it be fun! With all you have going on, (websites, gardens, school, after school, hubby, kitty’s, blogs, meals..gee that really is a lot when you start typing it out like that) I feel blessed that you took time to think of me. Seems like a life time ago. You just put one foot in front of the other until you’re far far away from it all. Poor little guy, I really depended on his cuddles….he did good.
