DIY Bulletin Board

I’ve stored these old cupboard doors forever and even moved them when we sold the house.  I knew one day I’d get around to using them.  Finally made good on that plan by turning one into a bulletin board for my Craft Room. Surprise, it’s Aqua.  Here’s the skinny:

1). Took frame to Windsor Plywood where nice guy cut piece of plywood to fit. Ensure this cut plywood is slightly smaller than your frame to accommodate your fabric, batting and ribbon.  This will depend on the cover you desire (cotton vs twill or velvet, etc).

2). Cut fabric front, back and batting to be .5 inch wider then the plywood.  I sewed a sleeve to slip over the plywood so the back is also finished. I also sewed the ribbon directly to the sleeve

3). I finished one end of the sleeve with binding.  This is where I hand stitched it close after slipping the sleeve over the plywood.

4). Fit into frame and use wooden biscuits to hold in place (like the back of a picture frame).

I’m using my new DIY Bulletin Board to display inspiration’s and plan my next Scrappy Page Project. I haven’t mounted it to a wall since we’re renting here, but it’s actually very handy right were it is.

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently design for Paige Taylor Evans and The Hip Kit Club. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛
