Mr Boomdeeadda’s away, and I miss him, I really do but one perk is: dining on a whim and making one of MY favorite meals. Oooops that sounded a wee bit selfish. I got to craving a Caprese Salad and thought I’d take a little walk for the groceries. I was just getting out my Mary Poppins’ umbrella when O-my-gosh, it started to downpour. Plan B, drive four blocks to the market.
While there, I found these new breads call “Flat Out”. I must say, my turkey/havarti/onion panino was delish. Thumbs up on the “Flat Out” bread (only 140 calories per bread).
The ‘hands-down’ BEST Caprese Salad I’ve ever had is at Lahaina Grill in Lahaina, Maui. The restaurant is rated #3 out of #179 on Trip Advisor but should be rated #1. The service is impeccable and the food and wine selection is incredible. Well now, MY Caprese Salad is nothing a chef would applaud but as an alternative to the usual mixed green salad, it’s easy breezy. I enjoy it with Neuman’s Own Light Balsamic. If you arrange it in a round fan, each yummy bite gets cheese and tomato.
I’m not sure what the rules are about drinking alone AND eating in front of the TV (miss manners look away), but it’s the only way I’ll ever enjoy dinner with Patrick Jane. Bon Appetite.
What’s that Patrick, you’d like the recipe?
