Beat The Heat In Style

Do you ever just feel like spoiling yourself? Today we’re enjoying the view from our table on the patio of The MacDonald Hotel

There’s always a hub of activity to enjoy in downtown Edmonton.  Farmers markets, art shows, fine restaurants and festivals all scheduled within a few short months.  Friends marvel at how adaptable I’ve become after living a country lifestyle for so many years, but really I feel like I’m on a holiday. Summer activities are fast and furious in Edmonton.  On this fine day, with the weather a perfect 27 C (for  those of you in the south, that’s about 80.6 F), Mr Boomdeeadda and I are at The MAC.

Fondly referred to as The MAC by locals,The MacDonald Hotel was built in 1915 in the ‘Chateau’ style and sits on the banks of the North Saskatchewan river. With spectacular vista’s of the lovely Edmonton River Valley Park land it’s a heavenly spot to enjoy a beautiful day.  In 1991, after extensive and costly renovations,  Canadian Pacific Hotels reopened The MAC to travelers wanting a luxury stay in the heart of downtown Edmonton.

We’ve come to their beautiful patio to “water the horses” as they used to say. It’s never too early in the day for desert and this Rhubarb Crumble with Maple Yogourt is highly recommended. We must come here more often, it’s so relaxing. Such a special treat and decadent way to beat the heat in style.

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently on the Cut File Team for Paige Taylor Evans. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛
