As I’m all thumbs with most crafts, and end up with more glue in my hair than on my projects, I now tell people I’m growing my own furniture. It sounds impressive, and they realize it’s a long-term enterprise that they may not be around to see when finally complete. 😉

LOL, I think you’d be good at anything you’d put your mind to. With so many chores, you might be smart to wait for your furniture to grow -vs- tackling any glue guns. Thanks for your visit too.

I love your craft room! You work on the floor as do I. I also LOVE creativity quotes. I just wrote down “you can’t use up creativity, the more you use the more you have”. That Andy warhol quote is one of my favs also, I always think about that. Right now I am making a halloween wreath, and as you know I just finished making those Dish Totems for the Garden. I wish all i did was make stuff… more ideas than time.

Thank you, thank you. I can spend hours on those quote sites. I went to a Warhol installation at our Art Gallery not too long ago. He was definitely ahead of his time, all be it off the wall. They actually had a wall full of his wigs…yep, not his hair 😉
I only move to the floor when my desk is too full for even one more thing…this happens daily. O’ my back…hehe

Thanks so much, I do feel happy when I’m in there. I love the big window and having my cats to snuggle along the way. 🙂 I also managed to set things in some fashion of neatness, but it won’t stay that way for too long. Have you use your lovely new craftroom yet? Or still unpacking? Nice to have you pop by 🙂

I’ll get in there this weekend while it’s raining. I ran errands while the sun made a final appearance. The chair mat went down last night. Pattern and project are on the machine. Cross your fingers.

Ur craft room is awesome – one isn’t supposed to keep it clean as then u would have no time for the craft itself – that i why the door was invented just shut the door and put a sign “Keep Out Danger Might Explode” lol

Thanks Aunty, lucky is the girl who can stay home (do the odd load of laundry) and craft all day. I finally did a little clean up so I could start something new. I need to craft up that little sign though, that’s a good idea and yes it did look like a craft explosion. LOL xoK

Thank you! The party this weekend is a very Americanized version of a Japanese theme. The birthday girl’s family are not adventurous eaters. But it should be fun.

The Aqua cat toy was a gift from Uncle Wayne…now that I think about it, so was Big Blue (cat tunnel toy). They used to love it, now it just sits there….kind of like kids I imagine. They have their favorites for a bit then…enh..nothing. Next garage sale 😉

Yep…just like kids. I bet if you put them out of view for a month, then brought them out again, they might renew interest. You can also scatter catnip inside. That mike spark some interest, too.

I loved getting a peak into your craft room! How sweet to see (Petals or Blossum) sitting on the pretty pillow. I remember when you re-made that. I *love* that rug. I’ll bet it’s cozy, too, under your feet.
What is the tool with the rotating pink handle? I don’t recognize that one.
Let’s see….my creative palette this week includes finishing my leopard skirt costume and playing dress up with my pumpkins.

Thanks for your messages Alys. Blossum was keeping an eye and things all day. She’s such a good girl. That rug was a good buy. It was in our guest room at the lake. I like that it hides the rug in that room (no very good shape). The Tool on the floor is a ‘Big Shot’ for cutting shapes with Die Cuts. I should write a post, cause I love it.
Can’t wait to see all the hard work, with you and Sharon decked to the goulish nines. I’m trying to decide what to carve in my pumpkin…nothing as special as Mikes I’m sure. Those were sure special on your FB…WOW.

That would make an excellent post. I’ve not heard ot the Big Shot. I have a Cricut which is also a lot of fun. I used it a lot more when the boys were younger. I was often a room mom or the Art Vista “docent” for the school art program. (No money for art any more so the parents ran the program). I also used it when I took care of the school bulletin boards. That was a fun job.
Maybe you can find a kitty cat to carve. Tell Blossum it’s her and tell Petals it’s her.

I bet you and your Cricuit were stars as the Art Vista “docent”. Sounds like a good way to flex your Art muscle. How did you pick the themes? The Big Shot is similar. Kitty carving is a really good idea…I’ll have to snoop the Web for a free download. 🙂

One of the parents created an entire Art Vista curriculum by grade. We gave six lessons a year, first a 15 minute discussion displaying famous art prints, then a hands-on project, age appropriate to the grade. They also had a separate clay docent who tought a few lessons to the third and fifth graders.
M. loved it in the early grades, but later decided he like doing his own thing better. It was too controlled for him (a true artist I think).

Holy Cow, that really sounds like a big responsibility, not exactly a drop in to do a favor kind of thing. Bravo for parents. I hope it’s still an elective here, I know it was my favorite class. Your little man sounds like he really has his own ideas, an independant thinker. That’s great, shows confidence. 🙂

Thank you for that. Yes, it was really an impressive program but a commitment too of a few hours a month. We also created art folders or portfolios for the kids at the end of the year, and put on an art show for end of the year open house. We displayed one piece of each students art, so everyone was represented.

Impressive to be sure. Hero awards all around. The community should be so lucky to have like minded parents able and willing to extend themselves and their creativety. Can you imagine what that would cost if they had to pay someone?

It would be a lot of money. The continued cuts to education make my blood boil. We can’t see the forest for the trees. California is dead last, or close to it when it comes to our education system. We would rather spend money on…anything…but education.

😦 I think parents here would share your concerns. There seems to be no end to the ‘days off’. Not like when we were kids. I know it’s a logistical nightmare for working couples.
