If you answered nothing, congratulations! Great minds think alike. I had to show you these tidy and free desk accessories I’m putting to work. Can you guess what they were used for originally?
I was shopping for some candles the other day and noticed these were just hanging around empty. They normally are used to display votive’s. I bought a couple of votive’s and asked for the empty trays. The sales associate was only too happy to send them with me.
I’m using them on my craft desk for all the tiny bits I like to put in to my collages. All these little scraps are now in one tidy spot and it’s so much easier to see what I have. I think they’d also be useful in a sewing room, handy for a beader or even in the garage for nuts and bolts. Next time you’re shopping for candles, you might consider asking for their empty trays, because what’s better than free?
Love organization of any kind…of course it always looks better when you see somebody else do it☺

Hi Laurie, well thanks for popping back there. I’m in a constant flux of purging and organizing. I’m still making use of these too, since I have a lot of little bits I add to my scrap pages….so they just keep on keeping on. Cheers!

I was going to guess muffins. That will show you where my mind is parked!
Great re-purposing, Boomdee. They look nice and sturdy, too.

Muffins would have been a good guess. They are pretty thick plastic, I guess to hold 9 candles. I’ve got them filled with buttons and bric-brac I’m using on a christmas banner now. Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks Sher! I was thinking they’d make good containers for paint too if someones little one is an aspiring artist. Have you decorated for Christmas yet? That’s what I do after the big guys BD..Thanks again for that cute card! xoK

It is so funny that you did a post on this, because I received a gift for Christmas last year with six tins of nice smelling hand lotion, all set in a plastic tray like the one you have shown. I never threw it out. Then, over the summer when I was making my cement tealight holders, I pulled out this plastic and used it as a cement form. It worked out great, as I could just pop out the cement when it dried! I am glad to know that I am not the only one who loves little weird finds like this! I knew I liked you for some reason! 🙂

Well aren’t we the clever ones.ha There’s probably loads of stuff thrown into the trash that could be repurposed. One of my favourite Blogs on WordPress is Hammer Like A Girl. They are the Queens of recycling the most outrages stuff and it always looks so cool…Thanks for sharing your idea! 🙂
