The Gift of Friendship

I’ve been holding onto a lovely secret, some really big news. Now, the guest of honour has spilled the beans. Dear Pauline, The Contented Crafter, will travel from her home in New Zealand, around the other side of the world to meet up with four woman she’s never met before. In fact, only Alys and I have met before. Doesn’t it sound like an adventure only in the movies? It’s going to be epic, the things dreams are made of. We’re now counting the days. Read on to join in the excitement and fun xoxox

The Contented Crafter

If you have been tagging along with this blog for a while you will have read on many occasions of my appreciation for the delightful people that blogging has introduced into my life.   I love how certain folks circle around different bloggers, how we introduce each other to new and exciting blogs – how we click with new people.  I sometimes forget how I stumbled across someone and then will see another name in the comments and remember that I gatecrashed their party a year ago and have been having a growing relationship ever since …..   I’ve made some really good friends while blogging.  And never actually met a single one of them!

But that is all about to change!

Recently some of these friends put their heads together and decided to make something happen.  They invited me to come stay for a few days.  A week of…

    1. Thank you Cathe ! It’s just over two weeks for the trip. Insane! I sure hope your weather prediction comes true. They’ve had some really rotten late snow storms in DC. We’ll certainly be camera crazy, stay tuned.

    1. Thanks so much Cindy. I’ve being collecting visits on different holidays. It’s always a treat to spend time with someone you’ve got to adore on line. Our DC trip will be epic, we are probably never going to be all in one place again. I know there will be memories for a lifetime. x

  1. This is so amazing, Boomdee!! What a wonderful time you all will have. I dream of walking under cherry blossoms one day. Sigh! You inspire me to make efforts to visit blog friends in my own state. Such adventure!

    1. It really is amazing, the people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Hey! How about inviting a local out for lunch or rendezvous half way between your hometowns? You’re always welcome here, do wait for summer though 😀 xo

    1. Thanks Stacey, we’re getting pretty gung-ho now since it’s only 7 weeks or so. Just a bunch of bloggers hooking up for a little magic. I think those people at the airport will want to wear ear plugs 😀 xo

    1. Thanks so much for your cheer Crystal. We’re all incredibly grateful to be able to hook up. I think it would make a great movie. Maybe Meryl Streep, Diane Keaton….HA. They’re cute and middle aged 😀 xo

    1. Sweet Pauline, Alexandria is only 20 minutes south of Washington DC. So almost in the city but not quite. It’s right along the historic Potomac River which played an important role during the American Civil War. There’s is so much wonderful history in the area, I can’t wait for our walkabouts. According to Julia, Alexandria is much quieter than DC, so that’ll be great for all our girl time, chit-chats and whatnots. xoxox

  2. Thelma and Louise, with another Thelma and Louise thrown in for good measure! Now that is going to be SOME road trip girls! :). Have a blast and make sure to all blog about it when you get back 🙂

    1. LOL, Thelma and Louise x 2 = good times. We shan’t be driving off any cliffs I hope 😀 Although Laurie, ‘Life On A Bike And Other Fab Things’, apparently drives some giant pickup truck so that’ll be interesting. I hope she packs a wee stole for us shrimps to climb on in there. That’d be quite the seen, snort. Thanks for cheering us on narf, we could Skype you from there, all 5 of us at one time, think you could handle it? LOL xoxo

      1. Twitching! ;). Seriously, you guys are going to have SO much fun. I certainly wouldn’t want to be Julia’s neighbours as they aren’t going to get an ounce of sleep once you all alight like gloriously excited butterflies at her house 😉

  3. I’m so excited for you and your friends……….I hope the persnickety weather cooperates for you girls…..AND the cherry blossoms. Everyone holds their breath at that time of the year because so many people come to see them and depending on the weather they may or may not cooperate! If I could join you I would……..but we just don’t “do” D.C. any longer since we’ve truly become “country folk” !!

    Hugs, Pam

    1. Thank you so much my dear Pam x I do hope Mother Nature will be on her best behaviour, yet our trip is as much about each other as the sights. It’s a Blogger Palooza that will sustain our hearts until we’re able to meet again. Maybe we need to all go down under next time? That would really be crazy! I wish you could meet us up too. We’ll also be in Alexandria for the balance of the trip. If not, maybe next time. Love & Hugs K
