My New Home

Did you think I was gone forever?

Just been traveling around the globe.

But living out of a tiny suitcase,

has gotten very old.

You might remember my one true love,

I had planned a pretty ring.

But she said, “no thank you sir” , then ran away,

saying, “I’m not ready for that bling !”

With a broken heart, I headed south,

to a land I’d never known.

Hoping to mend my broken heart,

and find happiness alone.

Everyone was just delightful !

We made plans to hang together.

Friends help friends get through it all,

no matter what the weather.

I’ve settled in New Zealand

and Boomdee sent my home.

“I’ve brought with me, a few new friends”,

I tell her on the phone.

It’s bigger than my old place,

more room to wander and play.

Enjoyed our little visit,

glad you came along today.

    1. Hello lovely friend ! Thank you so so much 😀 From my first garden, I made a commitment to always post about my Fairy Garden in a rhyme 😀 When Eve disappeared off the front porch last summer 😦 I was so sad, I thought for sure here and Alyster would get together 😉 Maybe another nymph will wander into his kingdom ❤ You just never know how the story will unfold xoxK

    1. Hello sweets ! If not for you, there’d be no fairy garden at all. I was pretty sad to lose so many treasures. A couple of them were from you and that made them more special. I have everything set up on the french desk near the main floor powder room. That window faces east so only gets soft morning sun. It took me a while to find a bowl that could accommodate a lid of sorts too. Kitty paws have been near by, but I put a glass cover on when I’m going out for a longer period of time 😀 I wonder what goes on when I’m not home, LOL ! Big love xoxo

      1. We will find you more fairy garden treasures as time goes on, and you’ll have to make double the visits to San Jose to hit all the good shops. 🙂 Deal? I think what you may feel the most is that sense of violation that someone would take things from your porch, especially something so magical and sweet. It doesn’t feel good. I’m glad you’ve found a special spot in your home along with a good way to keep wandering kitty paws at bay. xo

        1. Double San Jose sounds fun 😀 I took forever to find a jar big enough to do a garden in. I’d see them super big but with wee necks that nothing could fit through. The kitty angles are snuggled beside me this moment. Hard to imagine them being naughty….but they sure are sometimes 😀 While we were in Maui, one of them knocked a pot off the french desk right on to my Virginia Turkey….eeep!…broke the neck clean off 😦 I haven’t thrown it away yet. I’m going to try and glue it. Bad Pussy cat turkey killers, LOL

  1. How adorable! Can’t decide whether I like your charming poem better or your photos. 🙂 Have fun shopping for new souvenirs on your holiday — and keep an eye on the post when you return for something from Minnesota too! xoxo

    1. Hello hello lovely Miss H ! Thank you so much for that because it was tricky sticking my hand in a bowl, holding my phone upside-down and pushing the photo button ! LOL ! I’m sure professionals have a better way 😀 I erased a LOT of photo’s too 😀 The Koala and birds all come from one Market table in Sydney, Australia. I wanted to buy his entire table and wish I’d gotten more. We stayed in The Rocks. An historical area with hotels, shops, restaurants and this awesome Artist Market every Saturday. If you ever plan a trip to Sydney, I’d really recommend the area. We loved it.

Hunting for Fairy Garden treasures on holidays is a sweet remembrance of all the places we’ve traveled. I can peek around the garden and think about Sydney or Victoria or San Jose and Alys and soon, you too. You’re totally awesome to send a treasure, thank you in advance dearest ! xox K

    1. Hello hello lovely Genevieve! Thank you so much for visiting and your message! The only sad thing to happen was, someone snitched a whole fairy garden from my front porch. Thankfully, Alyster wasn’t out there, but Eve and a bunch of other beloved characters were taken. I was heartbroken and wasn’t sure how to write a goodbye to those things. I hope to be around more 😀 ❤

    1. Hello mama P! Thank you for your warm welcome. After visiting your Blog the other night, I realized I’ve really been missing it here. I’m also back to enjoying my little treasures after the light fingered fancier(s) visited last summer. My happy little NZ sheep is in the valley, grazing on some tasty grass 😀 He’s so cute! ❤ xK

        1. I’m keeping the garden indoors from now on. Not just because it’s winter (currently -30C, LOL) but also to ward off any light fingered folk. I have it near our main floor powder room, in an east facing window. The plants get soft morning sun and seem to enjoy the spot. I have glass lids to pop on when I’m out, to ward off little furry paws. I can sometimes see that they’ve took interest when the deer is knocked off his log perch. He watches over the entire garden from there 😀

I’ve been trying to figure out who Arnie is, LOL….what am I missing ? xoxo K

    1. LOL, I’m not sure what I contribute here can be called real poetry. It’s more a little rhyme, just for fun. But what happens in the Garden, since the beginning of time, all happens in a rhyme 😀

Hello sweetheart! Thank you so much for popping in. After a couple of months of business with work, I thought I’d make an effort to contribute to my blog. I’m slowly catching up and will be by to visit soon. We’re actually off to Maui on Sunday and I’ll have 7 lazy days in a row, LOL xK

        1. Thank you Vonderfrau ! It will be a nice break from this crazy weather. It’s been below -25 C for about a week now. A week of no cooking and house keeping is just what the Dr ordered 😀 xoxo K

  2. What a beautiful poem Kelly, multi talented I must say! Are you going to creat a new miniature garden this year? (Maybe in your back yard?)😘🐨🦒🍄🌿😉

    1. You are a dear to cheer me on with these things, thanks lovely! I’ve set aside a desk, near a window for Alyster and his garden. After loosing several items on our porch to an un-welcomed visitor, I don’t feel I can have a fairy garden outside, not even in the back yard. Jim also had his bike taken right out of the yard two summers ago. I guess there’s always security camera’s but as we’ve seen on the news, that doesn’t even phase the crooks. I’m just glad my Gnome wasn’t out that day 😀 xK

    1. Awww, Cindy! No worries, everything’s fine dear. The sad thing was, someone robbed me last summer. They emptied my entire Fairy Garden including gifts from friends and treasures from many holidays. It’s what I buy when I travel because they’re small to bring home. Needless to say, my heart was broken and I wasn’t sure how to carry on my stories here. Eve, who you may remember from previous Garden stories, was Alyster’s sweetheart. Unfortunately they got her too. I’ve now placed a small french desk near a window and made a new fairy garden in the house.
So that’s part of why I’ve been absent, but I also got a new job last September and that has kept me busy too. I hope to make a better effort to keep up and catch up at WordPress. Always so happy to see you! We’re off to Maui on Sunday and I’ll have 7 days to make a new start. xo K

      1. I am saddened somebody robbed you of your garden treasures. I also had trouble figuring out what was going on there, but it is good to see you back, and I hope soon you will not be “gnome alone” anymore.

        1. Awwe Lavinia ! You are the sweetest. As I was rhyming along, I never dreamt my little story might be thought of as about me. Yep, just a thoughtless person, wandering the neighbourhood and helping themselves to meaningful treasures that made me happy. At first, looking into an empty garden, I couldn’t quite believe it. In my heart, I hope it was a child and they are having fun. I hate to think it was a mean spirited adult.

I hope everything is going well for you too ! Will pop in from Maui next week. xo K

    1. Oh I sure hope so AC! How lovely to come by, thank you so much xoxo When Eve disappeared last summer with a few other friends (last seen on my front porch), Alyster & I were heartbroken. It took some time to recover, but life in the garden goes on 😀 xoxo Boomdee
