My First Crush

What do women look for in a man? He should be handsome of course but not too good-looking (too tiring fighting off other women). He should have a sense of humor, life is more fun when you’re laughing. He should be employable, so you can follow your dreams together. He should be someone who will hold me in his arms and I’d feel safe.  Some ‘nice to have’ traits: good kisser, firm build, fun friends.  He might even go boldly, where no man has gone before.

Surprise! I’m a Trekky (yes, it’s in the Urban Dictionary). Yep, Captain James T Kirk was (in my books) all the above. I don’t think there’s an episode I haven’t seen.  We recently got a channel playing all the old re-runs and dang….I still think he was cute. OK, nerd alert!  Of course I’m happily married now, in fact Mr Boomdeeadda is also named James (that’s a weird coincidence), but James T, you were my first crush.

Footnote: If I wasn’t so experienced (aka vintage) the NEW Captain James T Kirk might be my NEW crush.

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently on the Cut File Team for Paige Taylor Evans. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛

    1. LOL, I guess there wasn’t too much on Canadian TV back then. Three channels and one of them in french.

Back in the day, Captain Kirk was the bomb. I do remember thinking McGyver was kind of dreamy to later on. Now Corey Feldman…..HA you go for the bad boys…HA.

  2. Love it! My first crush was the character who played Don on Lost in Space! Do you remember that show.

Here is a bit of my personal trivia: when we moved from Canada to the States in 1966, the first show I ever say was…Star Trek!

    1. Ha, those space boys really turned heads. I really do remember Lost In Space. With that crazy robot and scary Dr Smith, and Don..yes he was a handsome guy…that’s cute. We were so nieve back then (people in general, not just you and me, ha).

        1. A BLOG I read daily is ahundredyearsago.com (on WordPress). Sheryl writes her gramdma’s diary entry exactly 100 years ago, it’s fun to see how things have changed. What can we imagine only 40 years from now?
